A war breaks out between the British and the French, during which the French capture a British Major. A soldier brings the Major to the French Colonel for interrogation.
The Colonel begins ridiculing the Major for wearing a red tunic and says why do you wear that silly red uniform? It makes it easier for us to see you. The Major replies so that when I get wounded the blood will not show and my men will not get scared.
The Colonel says that's a good idea and turns to the soldier and says From now on the French army will wear brown pants
