The Huffington Post was bit forward with this article I thought:

"The leaders of the main parties, including the recently disinterred Tony Blair, are all racing around, seeking subtly and not so subtly, to claim credit for the blazing success of the Olympics. Just as, four years ago, they grovelled and fawned before the newly elected Barack Obama, in the hope that a little of the stardust might rub off on them (my goodness, that seems long ago), so they pray that something similar might happen with the Olympics."

Suppose they may have a point...
