The misdeeds of errant priests, constituted "a grave betrayal of trust" and deserved "unequivocal condemnation". "Victims should receive compassion and care, and those responsible for these evils must be brought to justice."

Since I spoke these words to the world, in response to the questionable conduct of some of my priests throughout the world, far less of them have been caught being naughty.
