Rio Ferdinand has turned his back on me and ­England following his Euro 2012 heartache.

I left the Manchester United defender fuming when I left him out of his squad for the finals.

I chose John Terry instead and blanked Ferdinand again by calling up novice ­Martin Kelly when Gary Cahill was ruled out with a broken jaw.

So at least he got the message!
