I intend to open the way for the bill on Gay marriages to go beyond hte Government's formal position - allowing it to be amended to permit churches to allow gay marriage, if they choose to do so.

I'm not really doing this out of strong feelings on the subject - more along the lines that maybe the Lib-Dems can get some new supporters out of it. To replace the thousands who have departed since I joined the party with the Conservatives.

I must keep trying...
