Me and the wife, Miriam González Durántez, a partner at Dechert; Alison Lees, partner at PwC and Charlie Hoffman, managing director at HSBC Private Bank Ltd, are in Spain on holiday with our children Antonio, Alberto and Miguel.

It gives us a chance to see Miriam's banking family, check out a villa or two, and make possible plans for a move here full time... if thinks go anymore pear-shaped with the Coalition.

I was never a boy-scout, but I must be prepared!
