I see that UKIP's MEP Godfrey Bloom has thrown his hat in the ring to become Humberside's first elected Police and Crime Commissioner.

He's not going to stand much chance against me in the battle for the post.

After announcing his intention to stand, Mr Bloom, the sitting Member of the European Parliament (MEP) for Yorkshire and northern Lincolnshire, said, "It is my belief that the British police are still the best in the world but constant political interference has unfortunately diminished their status in the community.

Huh!
