I had just been plastered for telling people I was 95 when I'm 94 when I saw this headline: 'PRINCE DIES'. Then I heard someone talking about the Princes Purple reign. I wondered if I had dies and was 'somewhere else'. Then someone told me about the Princes electrifying performances. That put me (and Charles) out of the frame. Someone then told me that Prince was a popstar!

It reminded me of the time I told General de Gaulle that King Louis was dead. He looked alarmed and looked at me in a strange way. I then had to tell him I as referring to Louis Armstrong, who I had been introduced to once by the Duke of Windsor. I got my own back when I told the Duke that the Duke of Ellington had asked after him.
