Gordon Brown - My Fake Diary

Saturday, 11 August 2012

So, just to clear the air and get things out in the open about my calling a Labour voting woman a bigot:

Gillian Duffy, 65, heckled me as I was interviewed live on TV in Rochdale about Labour's plans to cut the deficit, repeatedly challenging me to say I would tackle the debt.

I ignored her intervention but was then asked by thicko senior aides in my entourage to meet her.

After a few minutes of exchanges she told reporters that I was a "very nice man" and that she had voted Labour all her life and intended to do so again next week.

But as I got in his car, I was still wired up to a Sky News microphone which picked up comments he then made rightly rebuking my advisers.

Me: That was a disaster...should never have put me with that woman. Whose idea was that?

Aide: I don't know, I didn't see her.

Me: Sue's I think. Just ridiculous.

Aide: Not sure that they'll go with that one.

Me: They will go with that one.

Aide: What did she say?

Me: Everything, she was just a sort of bigoted woman who said she used to be Labour.

I don't know what all the fuss was about...
