Capital One Cup 4th Round. Reading 5 Arsenal 7
Well that was an amazing game. I made eleven changes from the team which beat QPR 1-0 at the weekend, I made my thoughts clear at the AGM last Thursday that the League Cup is lowest of my priorities.
We were 3-0 down after 20 minutes and 4-0 after 35. Fans were singing "We want our Arsenal back". Then things began to turn round. Theo Walcott scored our first goal before half-time and also scored the equalizer in the 90th minute to froce extra-time, where we went 5-4 up, and then, after Reading equalized to make it 5-5 and penalties loomed, Theo added the sixth for his hat-trick and Chamak scored his second to leave the final score 7-5. Incredible. I think a lot of Arsenal fans left the ground at 4-0 down. At least they missed the traffic on the motorway!
Despite what I said at the AGM - I think our name is on the Cup!
On saturday we play United at Old Trafford - where we lost 8-2 last season. I might have a fiver on 0-0 as the correct score - stranger things have happened...
