Queens Park Rangers' Adel Taarabt and Arsenal's Marouane Chamakh are both included in Morocco's 23-man squad for the Africa Cup of Nations finals.

Chamakh has been selected despite only managing to eat a tagine just once in eight starts for Arsenal this season.

His manager Arsene Wenger claims the skinny Moroccan needs to show more hunger when he gets into scoffing positions.

"Marouane must work on his finishing and learn to put the lamb's eyeball in the back of the net" said the Frenchman.

QPR manager Neil Warnock took time off from his own diet to complain about the timing of the Africa Cup.

"Adel Taarabt has only just shed the lard he gained on the last trip away with the Moroccan lads. He has resumed light training and restricted himself to half a box of dates and two nutmegs over the Christmas period. He is too fit to wear the Moroccan shirt at the moment", said Warnock.

But Atlas Lions coach Eric Gerets has promised to make the emaciated London based Moroccans more solid when they return to the Michelin starred Cous Cous training camp.

"We have noticed Taarabt's fatness levels have deteriorated since he returned to QPR after competing in the final of Come Dine With Me in Fez. Our chef Rachid El Shishkebab will be working round the clock to get Adel and all the other Moroccan diners back in shape", said the retired Belgian.

Morocco kick off their Nations Cup Group C buffet against North African rivals Tunisia on 23 January before sit down meals against co-hosts Gabon and then a banquet with newcomers Niger.
