Football Eh? Bloody Hell!

Following the outbreak of swine flu at Blackburn Rovers there are fears that the football fixture list could be decimated.

Sam Allardyce, the Rovers boss set the blame squarely at the door the of the Premier League, and hinted that the infection may have been spread to Chelsea in last weekend's fixture.

"Applying for a postponement of the Chelsea fixture would have been pointless," he told us. "They wouldn't have granted it because we had enough fit squad members to fulfill the club's commitment. These officials are about as much use as a chocolate teapot."

Burnley manager Owen Coyle chuckled:

"They thought the stunt with the plane a few years ago was the best thing since sliced bread, but I think we topped that by sending them the swine flu."
