Unnamed sources at the Central Intelligence Agency in Langley, Virginia, USA claim that they are on the verge of publishing a report that former British heavyweight champion Henry Cooper and Obama Bin Laden were one and the same person.
The evidence is pretty compelling, especially in light of the fact that the news of the two men's deaths came within hours of each other.
The two men were certainly never seen in the same place together, while Arabic scholars have studied the Brut 33 TV ads of the Seventies which starred Cooper and England international footballer Kevin Keegan.
The academics have analysed the advert's iconic "Splash It All Over" catchphrase and have determined that, if you rearrange the letters, it contains the Al-Qaeda mantra "Ash Al-Tov E" which means "Death To The West".
CIA sources also suggest that the legendary 1963 fight between Cooper and the then Cassius Clay (when the Briton floored the future Mohammad Ali with a left hook) was just a cover to hide Henry's true affiliations. Clay converted to Islam just months later.
The British Boxing Board of Control have refused to comment on the speculation.
