China has passed a law in order to ensure that children visit their parents. China is way ahead of other countries and believes it is setting an extremely good example to the rest of the world.
There are so many lonely people in the world, wasting away in nursing homes and, in some cases, in their own homes. It should not be deemed necessary to pass laws to ensure lonely people, worldwide, have friendly visitors in the twilight of their lives.
It is hoped that many countries, worldwide, will ensure that ALL elderly people in nursing homes - even in their own homes - will begin to enjoy visits from family members (or people posing as family members - as many elderly people do not recognize family.)
In England, volunteers are being recruited to play the parts of family members when visiting the confused elderly.
Some are saying that this is Cruelty to Elders however, think of the alternative. What harm is being done.
