It is thought that the female police officer may have gone AWOL as a result of her having no 'back-up' to call upon should a situation arise.
Police officers are more hated and feared than revered in Mexico, according to resident Miguelle Klassen. He told our reporter that the police are the 'last' people you go to for help as they are all corrupt and charge individuals for their services 'if they show up at all'.
When asked about the disappearance of the last remaining police officer, Miguelle told us, via an interpreter, that he feels Guadalupe will be better off now - a safer place to live. He is looking forward to a more peaceful, hassle-free life. Now he won't have to 'pay the police' for protection - which they never gave him anyway.
Regarding the disappearance of police personnel over the last 12 months Miguelle believes they have gone into the mountains to join up with the bandits, who, apparently are making more money a week than the police were on 'regular duties and bribing of citizens'.
