An Englishman working as a teacher in the Thai capital of Bangkok was almost caught out tonight, when his secret girlfriend telephoned him whilst his son was in his room with him, causing maximum embarrassment!
Malcolm Strimple, 37, was chatting to his 14-year-old son whilst the latter was using his dad's exercise bike, when the phone rang. Strimple takes up the tale:
"I saw it was my girlfriend, but what could I do? I couldn't ignore it, as I knew that if I did, the persistent wench would keep ringing. I kept my cool and went out onto the balcony where I thought it was safe to talk out of earshot of the radar-lugged troublesome youth."
There was a surprise in store for the teacher, however. Strimple again:
"When I finished, and went back into the room, he asked me why I hadn't told him I'd got a girlfriend. I pretended to be French, and told him that I spoke no English. So far, I think I am in the clear!"
