A fully grown female Bengal Tiger had a lucky escape after a 7year old girl fell into its enclosure yesterday at Berlin Zoo, Germany.
The disobedient child climbed a large fence surrounding the Tiger enclosure, dropped into the trees and clambered down to ground level.
It has been widely reported that she was wearing a dark mask at the time of the break in. However, it can be revealed that this was a "brown bear mask" from the gift shop and had no connections to the girl concealing her face for criminal purposes.
The girl apparently, "pulled the tiger by the tail" mimicking a schoolyard skipping rhyme she had heard.
Mr. Terry Bulparent, from Berlin, noticed just how much trouble the tiger was in at the hands of his child and without thinking, jumped into the enclosure to help.
"I just grabbed her." He recalled, "It was terrifying! She was so strong and powerful. I got bitten but I just kept dragging her away."
The tiger watched as Mr. Bulparent struggled to control his unruly daughter and remove her from the pen.
A spokesman from the zoo released this statement: "Our tiger received only cuts and bruises after the incident. I thank God every day- since yesterday- that it wasn't a lot worse."
