Iranian President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, during a speech he was giving at a national youth conference, condemned Paul, the Psychic Octopus as nothing more than a sham, a fake. He even went so far as to tell the young people that Octopi cannot communicate.
Really? Tell that to the millions of soccer fans who have placed Paul at the very top of their list of most important living things on the planet. To them, God works in mysterious ways, and if God wants to send a psychic octopus to predict the outcome of the World Cup, then who is to say it's wrong?
Many believe that Ahmadinejad is just suffering from a serious case of sour grapes. Iran, after all, didn't make the final cut to even play at the World Cup. That, and the fact that Ahmadinejad has worked his tail off to try and intimidate the United States any way he can, including threatening to develop nuclear weapons and nothing is working. So the only thing he can attack without it attacking back is a helpless psychic octopus.
Not to worry, two signs were put in Paul's aquarium tank the other day. One said "Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is the best leader in the whole world" and the other said "Ahmadinejad is a loser." Paul was asked to predict the correct answer. He chose the latter.
