A deadly fungus has wiped out this years Afghani opium harvest and the Taliban have blamed the US and their allies for planting it.
Poppy growing and opium are one of the major sources of Taliban financing, but there was a slight twist in the tale of this story.
A Chinese scientist (China sent him in because they are major clients of the Taliban) has discovered the "root of all the evil" actually stems from the Taliban themselves.
Whilst fleeing from the US/Allied troops they tend to discard their rotting turbans (aero-dynamics are better without a turban) amongst the poppy fields and the fungus is actually filthy hair particles left inside the turbans.
It is a well known fact that the Taliban only wash their hair at birth and when they die, AAAAGGGH!
Another cause of the fungus is barefooted Taliban roaming the poppy fields searching for dead Allied soldiers so they can remove their boots, disgusting!
The fungi between the toes of the Taliban is also a cause of the disaster as it drops between the poppies, they only wash their feet at Ramadan!
The Poppy is usually a symbol of peace (especially after a night in a Chinese opium den) so lets hope this fungus is a sign from above and the poppy will be now used in its correct manner, making heroin for the US market!
