Chop 'em up next time!

(BANGKOK, Thailand) There was confusion surrounding the details of how a British man living in the Thai capital of Bangkok was involved in a near-fatal incident involving a new electric steam cooker and a carrot yesterday.

The man, who is masquerading as an English teacher in the city, had purchased the electric cooker at the weekend, and was too busy to read through the operating instructions which, he suspected, would have been written in Chinglish.

Chinglish is a cross between Chinese and English, and is regularly used by manufacturers to confuse western customers who have purchased their substandard goods, often with fatal consequences.

On this occasion, it seems the dozy teacher had not steamed his carrot thoroughly enough, and on attempting to swallow the orange pointy vegetable, it became lodged in his oesophagus, causing him to choke - and nearly die!

Interviewed by me, the man said:

"Chlist Ormighty! I'll have to chop 'em up next time!"

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
