Johannesburg, South Africa. In a day of drama unparalleled in the annals of history, a commercial jetliner landed at the international airport and disgorged 50 tourists, mainly from Japan, intent on doing some general sight-seeing.
Many of the tourists carried either video or still picture digital cameras and possessed a number of duty-free shopping bags stuffed with attractive items.
Upon retrieval of their luggage, they either boarded buses or hired taxis to take them to their hotel accommodation. They arrived at their destinations and went straight to their rooms to freshen up and change for a little evening entertainment at any one of a number of popular nightspots in the city.
So what did you expect? A murder or two, hijacking or terrorist bombing? Nah, just another day in paradise.
