Wembley Sold Out for Bloody Pats/Bucs Contest: Teams Promise "No Quarter!"

CBS Sports today stunned sports fans with a block buster announcing switch for the upcoming US Football game pitting the New England Patriots against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers scheduled for October 25.

Conceding unparalleled popularity to new British Futbol anchors Erin "Peepy" Andrews and Skoob 1999, the Manchester Mope, CBS has arranged a pricey 'loan' from ESPN in order for the charismatic announcing pair to cover the upcoming Colonial Game at historic Wembley Stadium.

A CBS spokesman said,"We're hoping this will boost our ratings in the UK having at least one in depth play by play announcer with a funny accent!"

Not mentioned, but universally acknowledged, is the sexual presence of side line heart throb Erin Andrews, who not only spices up the game with her looks, but the palpable sexual tension between her and her co anchor keeps viewers riveted to their seats. Despite recent misadventures, Erin said she will wear her helmet cam again, and promises more intimate locker room close ups.

Viewers in the US will get to see their teams play in the second largest stadium overseas, with covered seating numbering 90,000. The stadium, which took 4 years to complete, is also the most costly, with construction coming in at just over $1.2B when it was turned over for play in 2007.

The game has been sold out since December 2008 when the schedule was announced, seats mostly scoffed up by inquisitive Brits suffering through 1-0 'soccer' games lasting 6 hours as they follow their teams from "nappies' into dementia.

Weather could be a factor in the upcoming game. The Pats, 4-2, just dismantled the Tennessee Titans 59-0 in a raging blizzard, while the Bucs, now 0-6 lost again to the Atlanta Falcons, 28-21 on a perfectly sunny day.

Both teams have often played in rainy drizzle before, but never in a fog bank, which could ultimately define the outcome of the game. Odds makers are hazy on this one.

Rumours are also circulating that The Bonkettes (copyright 2009/Skoob) a touring rock band alsofounded by Skoob, are negotiating for the half time entertainment package.

Skoob has been noncommittal, locked in intense pre-broadcast 'boning up' on American Football with expert Erin.

"I dunno," Skoob said when we finally reached him, " we're trying to work things out with management. We're hopeful, and the girls are working hard on perfecting some new wrinkles in equipment malfunctions that should blow everybody away!"

Skoob did say, however, he expected most of the cast from "Below Decks" the Pirate Epoch featured on the Spoof, and adopted for the stage by Roman Polanski, would be on hand, in costume, to support the Bucaneers!

Kickoff is set for 1 PM, with live coverage of parking lot brawls starting at 7 am in keeping with the Brits tradition of 'getting pissed' early on game day!

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
