In an amazing escalation of its threat to pull out of the G20 Summit, the French government have now threatened to also pull out of France itself.
President Tsar Nicolas Sarkozy was quoted as saying "If France does not improve we will be on the first plane out. While I appreciate that our people have always had a degree of ignorance and laziness, this has reached a level where it is unacceptable, and I urge immediate action. We lead the world in nothing but strikes and protest marches, and even illegal immigrants are shunning our once great nation for a better life in other countries. "
President Tsar Sarkozy continued, "We will continue to monitor the situation closely, and unless the people of France impose greater regulation on themselves we will have no alternative other than to withdraw."
Should this threat be carried out, it would follow a long line of French withdrawals including troops from Iraq and effectively pulling out of World War Two almost before it had begun.
