Hanging up their hooks, one day at a time

Shipping companies across the world are rocking at the news that Somali Pirates are to hold a series of one day strikes over pay and conditions.

The Somalian Pirates are appalled at the conditions that they find on-board the ships that they steal, and have threatened the walk outs unless something is done. In addition, the cut for each of the pirates has shrunk in recent months as greater numbers of pirates are now required to steal one boat due to increased security.

"Is terrible, yes," said Hij Acboat, one of the Somalian pirates. "These boats we taken have nose swimmin' pools, nose Jacuzzi, we's are sleepin' four or fife to a bed. We's be better stayin' at home, I'm tellin' youse."

The pirates are in negotiations with three of the main shipping lines that operate in and around Aidan.

"We're not improving conditions for anybody," said Guus Ti-Wind of the Blue Star Line. "We're not operating a charity for robbing sons of guns. If they want to stiker, then I say let them. We'll see who buckles first. It won't be me, and that's a fact!"

It seems at the moment that talks between the two sides are locked in an impasse and the Somalians may be forced into carrying out their threat and holding lightning strikes. How many and for how long remains to be seen.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
