A planned London Facebook FlashMob has failed. FlashMobs are where thousands of people spontaneously gather at a specific venue at a particular time after getting the details from their friends on a social networking site.
The details are passed on from one person to their friend group and then these people pass it to their friend groups and so on. At the determined time everyone congregates at the target area very quickly, and then usually disperse before the police can intervene.
Despite several recent Flashmobs being extremely successful, this one seemed to go spectacularly wrong. The planned event was for a 'silent dance' in Trafalgar Square, but only seven people turned up and they mostly failed to dance silently.
One Londoner who usually attends the events was quoted as saying "It's too f***ing cold."
