Sarcasm has come out trumps for a seventh year running at the annual 'Lowest Form of Wit' awards show, beating off competition from irony, mockery and knock-knock jokes.
Sex Pistols front man Jonny 'Rotten' Lyden accepted his golden 'Witty' in typical fashion;
"I'm so excited to accept this 'great' award from such as 'distinguished' and 'talented' bunch - yeah, whatever", snarled Rotten in an emotional speech.
But why sarcasm above all the other notable forms of 'wit'? That's the question we put to jury chairman Stu Peede.
"I believe it is because sarcasm is so accessible and open to groups of all ages and beliefs", said Peede, "it just seems to come naturally to normal people - not that you'd understand anything about it".
"I'm shocked that we only came in 2nd place again", said Mark 'lazy boy' Lowton of TheSpoof.com - a so-called 'funny' website.
