U.S. Presidential hopeful Barack Obama and Ireland's new premier are closely related it was revealed today on a regional Irish radio station.
Midlands radio 3, is a controversial radio station based in the Irish midlands that prides itself on it's twice daily death notices and popular radio bingo slot that is broadcast in 15 different languages.
It was during an innocent phone in on the afternoon show with former world rodeo champion Roy Jennings that the relationship came to light.
Jennings was desperately trying to save his afternoon show from a slow and painful death as he interviewed well known local woman 104 year old 'Annie Gussep' who had phoned the show in floods of tears after her cat had been killed by a speeding car earlier in the day.
"I'm telling ya Roy it was that bastard Cowen in his new Merc" Ms Gussep sobbed
gently down the phone.
"Or one of dem fecking Obomo's"
Jennings, fearing a flood of complaints about racism and cats asked Ms Gussep to refrain from using racially provocative language and to shut up winging about her bloody cat because nobody cares, Ms Gussen responded angrily to any suggestion that she was provocative or in any way racist and proceeded to tell the clearly shocked broadcaster of her great grand mothers links to the Cowen family and the Obomo family of Moneygall.
"Obomo arrived on a merchant ship from Kenya and ended up playing the accordian in a local thrash Ceili band and stayed in Ireland till he died." Annie revealed
"Cowen's great great granny and Obomo's eldest lad ran off to America together, changed their name to O'Bama to try and fit in"
"Are you sure of this Annie?" asked Jennings, his voice dry and raspy. "Have you any proof to vindicate these allegations?"
"Proof? You want proof? Just look at them Roy? They're identical for gods sake. Obama's a BIFFO if ever I saw one.
"Great hurlers the Obomo's. Or is it herders?"
