The word "IRONY", thought to have been lost from the American vocabulary forever, was today discovered under a small filing cabinet at the state book depository in Fife, Alabama.
"I was minding my own business, doing some unusually vigorous cleaning when suddenly I saw something shiny on the floor" said building superintendent Denis Leary. "When I bent down to pick it up I realised it was, in fact, irony."
The word, which had apparently fallen out of a copy of the Oxford English Dictionary when it was dropped during the mid nineties, will now be reintroduced to the American people at a special inauguration ceremony on December 16th, following the US Presidential election.
Bill Hicks would have been 48.
