Paris - (Sacre Bleu Mess): French President Nicholas Sarkozy was keeping schtum today as the news broke that the body of top Parisian model Katoucha Niane was fished out of the River Seine, near the Pont d'Alma bridge of Princess Diana's tragic demise.
Niane, 47, was a well-known contemporary of Italian supermodel-cum-French First Lady Carla Brunei Sarkozy whom she eclipsed both on the catwalk and in terms of earnings.
The two reportedly fell out in 2000 over a product endorsement contract that would have seen Brunei treble her exposure.
Beautiful Guniea-born Katoucha had been reported missing a month ago after speaking out in yet another televised interview against the lack of French government support in the war against FGM practices.
"Perhaps she went for an unfortunate moonlight dip, alors?" was the only comment from the Elysee Palace today.
The Parisian daytime temperature in January has hovered consistently around the zero degrees celsius mark.
