Seemingly nothing is going well for the newly-wed Sarkozy's these days: the new First Lady had likened the publishing of a supposed SMS by Nicolas Sarkozy to his ex-wife, telling her that his wedding to Carla Bruni would be called off, if she returned to him, to the methods used by some collaborators during the Nazi occupation of France. This has set off a storm of protest mainly, but not only, from Jewish groups.
It must be borne in mind that President Sarkozy has Jewish roots through his mother's lineage. A spokesman for the president has therefore confirmed that he will be taking legal action against his new wife for slander and libel.
In the meanwhile, Carla Bruni - Sarkozy (who is also partly from Jewish descent), has profusely apologized in the press and has confirmed that she shall be taking legal action against herself.
In an extraordinary twist of events, it would appear that the lawyer representing Mr Sarkozy also happens to be the very same one seized by his wife. This lawyer (who cannot be named for reasons of State Security), has made it be known that he will be taking legal action against both the President and his wife, for wrongful instruction and contempt of law. Moreover, he is also issuing a writ against himself for willful negligence and incompetence.
The Paris Bar has immediately issued writs against the President, his wife, their parents, friends, lovers and loose acquaintances. In an act of unwavering solidarity, all other lawyers throughout France are meanwhile suing each other in the hope that new groundbreaking jurisprudence will be created.
