The World Wildlife Fund has slammed "irresponsible" zoos for naming their cutest additions with distasteful and degrading names. "This has got to stop." said WWF Spokesperson Lucy Lastic," These bears are becoming a laughing stock, this is animal cruelty taken to a new level."

Following the controversial naming of Knut the tiny polar bear, who famously fell into a deep depression on learning his name was an anagram, to new baby polar bear Flocke, which when said quickly takes on a whole meaning. The latest addition to the fold is an unlucky 7 inch baby panda called Fu Long. The WWF campaigned to drop two letters from Fu Long's name and were successful in their quest for a reasonably acceptable name.

"We criticize celebrities who call their children after fruit and moon bases, but we allow animal cruelty on an unprecedented scale when names are being chosen." said Ms Lastic. "Who can forget tormented cat Oedipus or Ethel's miserable dog Little Willy."

Meanwhile a Korean Zoo has announced the birth of yet another tiny rare Madagascan Lemur, to be christened "auspicious birth of rare creature" or Koc Flung Dung in Korean.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
