MOUNT EVEREST, NEPAL: Shortly before his death on Friday, Sir Edmund Hillary endorsed Hillary Clinton. The 88-year old conqueror of Everest said: "I was a nobody and I made it to the top of the mountain. Hillary can do the same".
Although a shy and private man the world-renown mountaineer confessed to having "had a crush" on Hillary Clinton.
"I'm attracted to strong women", he said, adding "particularly, women who aren't afraid to shed the odd tear now and then. God knows that I shed many a tear on my way to the top of Everest".
Sir Hillary said Mount Everest - the tallest peak in the world - is a symbol of feminine strength. "That's why Tibetans call it 'Chomolangma' - the Mother Goddess of the Earth" And we all know Hillary Clinton is the Earth Mother that America needs right now.
Saying it takes "experience" to scale the loftiest heights, Sir Hillary confirmed his confidence in namesake Hillary Clinton.
At Clinton Headquarters, supporters of Ms. Clinton said she was in the kitchen baking cookies and couldn't comment.
