A suspect released from Guantanamo Bay has been arrested and placed in custody on his return to the UK.
The British citizen, aged 28, had been imprisoned in the American base for 5 years without trial, after being captured doing 'something suspicious' in Afghanistan. He was picked up when he arrived at Heathrow airport and is being held in a cell in London.
The Metropolitan Police have said that they don't have enough evidence to convict the suspect based on what he was doing in Afghanistan.
When asked why the suspect is still being held, a spokesman said, "He seems to be quite angry about being locked up for the last 5 years, and we think he might take out that anger on somebody. So unfortunately we have to keep him locked up until he calms down. Of course it is possible that might make him more angry, in which case we'll have to keep him locked up for longer."
