NORTHERN IRAQ - Kurdish rebels came under attack today as waves of Turkish fighter-bombers dropped canisters carrying up to 500 turkeys each on rebel positions in the border areas.
Little damage was reported, as the Turkish fighter pilots were nearly unskilled in flying as the turkeys they carried under their plane's wings.
Soon after the latest raids, the pleasant aroma of roasted turkey wafted through the rebel camps. Families and clans joined together in festive turkey dinners.
PKK leaders have requested help from Baghdad in the form of breaded stuffing and cranberry sauce.
Several convoys of US Army trucks are en route to the area hoping to pick up some of the excess poultry.
