The captain of lost adventure cruise ship "Explorer" has been cleared of the any negligence. Despite the scurrilous rumour that the ship had hit an iceberg, experts from Greenpeas Save the Whales department have come forward with astonishing new information.
Greenpeas US spokesperson Wally Blubber says that it has been known for sometime that both southern right whales and humpback whales have been expecting Japanese whalers to come after them sometime soon. " They knew it were too good to last, so for the last few years they've bin ready. When they heard that the Japanese whalin' fleet had left for the Southern Ocean, they put their plans into action."
Mr. Blubber claims that the "Explorer", with it's bright red hull, was mistaken for a blood drenched whaler, and that whales then attacked it with rocket propelled grenades. "These here whales ain't no longer toothless tigers, just like them endangered Tigers in Asia ain't toothless whales." Asked where the whales had acquired these weapons Mr. Blubber claimed that he does not know for sure, but suspects Iranian involvement. "Everything else that gets blowed up, them dang Iranian towelheads is in on it so ya can bet your ass the trail leads back to them."
A spokesman for the whales refused to comment.
