WASHINGTON DC - After a long showdown of words that almost got USA and Russia into a second cold war, Condoleezza Rice on behalf of President George Bush formerly announced that the USA government has given up on the Missile defense shield they had intended to mount in Czech Republic and Poland.
'We realize how this issue (missile defense shield)has created tension in Europe and to cause division in Europe is the last thing we don't want to witness,' said Rice to state journalists at the white house on Wednesday morning.
George Bush is set to give a speech concerning this matter on national Television on Friday evening.
While Russia appreciates this long anticipated move by the USA it is not so with Czech Republic.
"Although we cannot compel the US government to mount the missile defense shield, it is really unfortunate that they have taken such a step since this means being left to the mercy of rogue nations like Iran. I hope the US government will reconsider this crucial matter and reverse their decision," said President Vaclav Klaus.
However different comments were passed by the Czech republic opposition leader Paroubek when he called the decision by the USA a "great milestone for mankind".
