The Holy Family?

The besieged parents of missing three year old have finally lashed out at the ever increasing court of public opinion against them. Reading from a crumpled piece of paper they stated early today, "We are reliable and responsible parents - and we can prove it!"

The unprecendted and uwarranted attacks on their behaviour have been smouldering away since it was discovered that the reliable and responsible parents had left their three infant children alone and un-protected in an un-secured holiday apartment while they socialised.

Statements like, "It never occured to us that they were not safe..." only served to kindle the blaze that has now spread like a really good story.

In an attempt to douse the scorching accusations against them they now explain precisely why it didn't occur to them that the children might not be safe.

The parents revealed that: "We had God, Jesus, Mary and Joseph, not to mention the whole arsenal of angels and saints watching over our children! Why on earth would we think they were not safe?"

In this unexpected turn of events the onus of proof now falls firmly on their detractors who must prove that God doesn't exist in order to show that the reliable and responsible parents have done any wrong.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
