PARIS (Loo Monde) - Nicolas and Cécilia Sarkozy remain tight-lipped about the terms of an agreement with Libyan Colonel Muammar Gaddafi that led to the release of six Bulgarian medical personnel from Libya's death row earlier this week.
Exactly how Mrs. Sarkozy secured the release of the six people remains a secret, but some have suggested that her feminine wiles were critical to the deal.
The Bulgarian captives were detained for eight years after being accused of deliberately infecting more than four-hundred children with HIV-tainted blood at a hospital in Benghazi.
Though Mr. Gaddafi holds no actual public office, he is widely recognized as the de facto leader of Libya. Arguably, Mrs. Sarkozy is also the de facto leader of Mr. Sarkozy.
Speculation abounds that a complex trade arrangement was reached involving Gaddafi's infamous son (Hannibal), Imelda Marcos's extensive shoe collection, and a portion of the Libyan leader's personal "Amazonian guard" corps (comprised of forty African women who are martial arts experts and are highly-trained with weapons).
