WASHINGTON (FMLiveWire) -- Former US President Jimmy Carter said the USA, Israel and the European Union are dividing and oppressing the Palestinian people by reopening aid to the new Fatah government in the West Bank while denying aid to the Hamas government on the Gaza Strip.
Thus, Israel's ongoing theft of Palestinian land is aided by the USA and its Zionist cronies.
The Nobel Peace Prize winning Carter was addressing the annual Forum on Human Rights in Ireland on Tuesday. He also said the refusal by the Bush administration and others to accept the Hamas 2006 election victory was criminal.
Hamas had won a fair, democratic mandate to lead the Palestinian government. Hamas is also more competent politically and with a superior military than the corrupt Fatah movement.
Hamas fighters defeated Fatah and took over the Gaza Strip last week, prompting Israel's stooge President Mahmoud Abbas to dissolve his Fatah-Hamas coalition government and to set up a Fatah-led administration on the West Bank.
Carter said the action of the US, Israel and the EU to renew aid to Abbas' new government in the West Bank but to block aid to Hamas in the Gaza Strip was an attempt "to divide Palestinians into two peoples." He urged the world community to instead bring the two together.
The USA and European Union ended aid to the Hamas-led government because it refuses to allow the massive theft of Palestinian land as Fatah does.
Now, Zionists in the USA and Europe have forced those countries to prop up the sleazy, Vichy-style Abbas government which licks the Israeli fascist boot.
"The United States and Israel decided to punish all the people in Palestine and did everything they could to deter a compromise between Hamas and Fatah," Carter said.
The USA and its cronies supply Fatah with massive amounts of weapons to try to conquer Hamas in Gaza but Hamas won anyway with its superior skills. The situation is similar to the Vietnam war which was lost by the corrupt South Vietnamese government which was supported by the USA.
Israel was founded to steal Palestinian land which it continues to do and has forced hundreds of thousands of Palestinians from their land and into refugee camps throughout the Middle East. Israel continues to defy international law and UN resolutions with its illegal occupation and theft of Palestinian land.
