Writers on The Spoof Website have been nominated for the Pulitzer prize, it was announced today.

Every writer who has ever written an article will be nominated with the winner receiving the coveted Pulitzer Tea Cup and a cash prize of £3.

Jimmy Rubharb of TheSpoof.com said "This is a wonderful achievement for all of our writers. Every contributer nominated for the award will be given a certificate from ourselves and we wish them all the very best.

The spoof website has had around 26 contributions since it opened in 1946.

No other writers will be nominated for the award.
