The Mexican-born Hayek, who is engaged to French billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault, has family plans that cross the globe -- plans she first came up with when she starred in "Desperado."
Executive producer of the hit TV show "Ugly Betty," the beautiful actress came into the world with the proper parentage (Lebanese and Mexican) to start an international family. Now Hayek and her French billionaire husband-to-be, who is CEO of French luxury goods empire PPR, are expecting their first child. The buzz is that Hayek dumped former boyfriends Ed Norton and Josh Lucas, because neither had the international pedigree and the money to partner in creating and maintaining an international family.
"Production, acquisition, whatever it takes," Salma reports, "we're ready." Although she admires Angelina's energy in traveling the world to pick up children, Hayek says she and Pinault don't plan to follow suit. "As mere millionaires, Brad and Angelina have to do more themselves," she explained, "but I'm marrying a billionaire, so we can afford to order up children from around the globe and have them brought to us. And we can definitely afford next-day delivery -- with all the proper insurance, of course."
Salma's friends recall her once saying, "I keep waiting to meet a man who has more balls than I do." Apparently the wait is over, and the fact that billions of dollars (and a baby!) come with the balls helped to seal the deal. Now it's on to the next challenge!
