Hell-raising bassist with the heavy metal combo Motorhead, Lemmy, is today being awarded a gong for his services to humanitarianism.

The citation is believed to read:

"To the Ace of Spades himself. A diamond geezer who is always there to pour oil on troubled waters"

Sixties pop icon, Reg Presley, from the Troggs said:

"Lemmy's a great guy. It's a little known fact that the dismantling of the Berlin Wall was down to him. He just turned up one day at Checkpoint Charlie with his stage rig, turned it all on full belt, launched into a killer bass solo and next thing it all came tumbling down"

Former Russian leader Mikhail Gorbachev commented:

"Leemmy ise grait guy and hees very deserves thees"

The bassman himself told The Spoof:

"This is a fantastic day for me and indeed for the guys in the band. We have always striven to do the right thing and this award just isn't for us it's for everyone"

He then saw a bank robbery in progress across the road and nipped over right speedily to sort it all out.

The Spoof says: Ba-ba ba ba-ba ba-ba ba ba...ba ba ba-ba ba ba a danga dang dang...adinga donga ding...Well done!

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
