In reaction to the complains of the Leaders of the Konkomba community in the Northern Region of Ghana, President John Dramani Mahama has promised to increase the number of people from the Konkomba ethnic group serving in his government very soon.
The President made this promise while addressing the Chiefs and people of Saboba near Yendi during the annual Konkomba Youth Association Congress.
The plans of the President have sparked a strong interest in the Konkomba ethnicity among a substantial amount of the governing NDC party faithfuls.
Many of the party's members and affiliates who previously have aligned themselves to other ethnicities are now planning to change their names and bloodlines so as to merit a position in government.
Sources in Ghana confirm that prominent NDC faithfuls like Mr Aseidu Nketia, Mr Oteng Adjei, Miss Victoria Hamah Abeiku Santana as well as Madam Akua Donkor of the Ghana Freedom Party are all planning to switch ethnicity to enjoy a piece of the Presidential cake.
