The Cosmos - A Norwegian oral hystery cult awaits the end of the world that will take place this Saturday to fulfil the highly regarded 13th century Ragnarok Prophecy.
The 'Fate or Twilight of the Gods' prediction is based on an old Viking ode written by Snorri Sturluson and easily trumps other, 'downmarket' soothsaying claims concerning the End of Daze.
These include destruction of the world by a Mayan Calendar asteroid (21 December 2012), US Christian radio nut Harold Camping's Armageddingouttahere rants (May 2011, later revised to October that year) and myriad comet-related scare stories pumped out by the global warming camp.
Commenting on the upcoming apocalyptic event a spokesperson from the Viking Centre for Runes and Stuff said Saturday coincides with the annual Norse feast day of Jolablot when Valhalla worriers (sic) return to settle a few cosmic scores.
Expect something dreadful to occur between midday and half past two Eastern Standard Time.
