A grossly overweight island ruler has warned nearby islands in the South Pacific that he is thinking of plunging into the sea three times this weekend.
King Blubbablubba is King of Splishisplashi - a tiny island half-way between the Philippines and New Guinea. He has never been in the sea before. But to celebrate his 50th birthday, "I wanted to try something different. And all my people have sponsored me for 100 dollars each if I could do it."
The King - who weighs in at 49 stone - will attempt the 'triple-dip' next Saturday.
Naval experts are currently trying to predict tidal patterns over the next few days. "There is a one-in-three chance of a series of massive tsunamis," said Dave Thawave, a local oceanographer.
A single massive tsunami could be bad enough, But a 'triple-dip' effect could be devastating. Residents in the Philippines and New Guinea have already fled to Australia, where sales of sandbags are reaching record levels.
