The future of pre-clearance US emigration facilities at Shannon Airport, Ireland, is causing concern.
UK Irish community newspaper The Irish World reports this week: "It comes amid reports that the US Department of Homeland Security is set to reduce the operating hours of their Customs and Border Protection facility in the Mid West."
The reports adds that the facility currently operates from 7am to 7pm Sunday to Friday and 7am to 3pm on Saturday and concludes: "But from October the weekend hours could apply week round."
A spokesman for people said: "We haven't a clue what this means or what it has to do with anyone."
