JAKARTA, INDONESIA (CWTS World News) -- In line with the International Women's Day, women protest the increase of prices of cooking oil that also affected other countries worldwide.
"Our concern on this issue is that women carry these kinds of burden. It's because we do most household chores, and that includes buying cooking oil to cook our food," stated the leader of the protesting women's group.
However, the secretary of the Trade and Industry Department of Indonesia stated in an interview that the oil manufacturers only have the right to change prices. "If we control it, we need to consult them first, otherwise it will be like communism," he added.
