Washington--Speaker of the House John Boehner told reporters gathered outside his office that he did his best to hold back tears as Obama gave his speech in front of both houses of Congress.
"His speech was so inspiring. I now have a greater understanding of why people voted for him. That stuff Obama said about working together for the good of America, well, I almost started crying on the spot. I found the best way to hold back my tears was to seem uninterested in what the president was saying and remain seated through the whole speech." Boehner said.
Boehner was asked what he was going to implement the president's proposals and he just began to weep.
"I love the president, I don't want him to succeed, but I love the guy." Boehner added as his weeping got out of hand. "I did tell the president that we should discuss his plan over a game of golf this weekend and he concurred."
