The press is reporting today that the GOP controlled House of Representatives has cut funding for the Navy Seals program in their proposed 2012 budget. It was a shocking move in wake of the Osama Bin Laden killing. Democrats were outraged and the media, for the most part, was stunned.

The Republicans and the conservative media were quick to defend the action. Michele Bachmann rose on the floor of the House and stated: "We can no longer afford to spend this kind of money on a once in a decade event. Beside, we don't even know if that raid was a hoax done by a desperate and cowardly President to win in 2012!"

"It's our children and our grandchildren we have to think about here," said Eric Cantor, Majority Leader of the House of Representatives. "We can't just continue to throw money at projects and institutions that are no longer relevant. Besides, the navy is supposed to sail around on ships. No question about it, this was mission creep."

On the media front, Rush Limbaugh was quick to praise the cut in funding for the Seals. "This entire Bin Laden episode was just another hoax by that commie film maker, Robert Greenwald!" Limbaugh wiggled in his seat and grabbed at his shirt. A member of his staff, speaking on condition of anonymity said the vibrator cushion on his chair seat had mal-functioned. Limbaugh continued, "This entire raid thingy was probably done in a studio. This President will stop at nothing to get re-elected!"

In related news, the main stream media and the public in general were shocked and outraged at the de-funding of the Seals. An investigation was demanded by the House Democrats when it was learned there are secret negotiations going on to give a no-bid contract to Halliburton to replace the Seals program. Meanwhile, Dick Cheney was spotted by a reporter from the AP entering the offices of Halliburton Inc. dressed in full battle gear and a blackened face. The company is denying the rumors.
