NORFOLK, Virginia - The People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has just been asked to investigate allegations of a case in Phoenix where sock puppets at The Jack Be Nimble, Jack Be Quick Day Care Center are being mistreated.
An unnamed source stated that she actually saw some of the four-year-old day care students hitting each other with the defenseless sock puppets.
The unnamed source also revealed that when one of the little four-year-old students ran and reported the incident to the teacher, the teacher merely excused it as simply being 'no big deal.'
The little four-year-old identified as Lindy Waffleseed then took out her cell phone and texted her grandmother Ginger Sue Waffleseed, 52, and told her what was going on at school.
Mrs. Waffleseed said that she got into her Toyota Tacoma truck and drove over to the day care center immediately but by the time she arrived all of the sock puppets had been put away.
The day care center teacher, Mrs. Layla Dishmeister informed Mrs. Waffleseed that her little granddaughter Lindy, had a very vivid imagination and that she should maybe think about putting her in acting classes once she gets to the first grade.
Mrs. Waffleseed asked Mrs. Dishmeister point blank if the sock puppets were being abused in any way, shape, or form. She was assured that they were not.
At that point Mrs. Waffleseed reached in her granddaughter's purse and took out her cell phone. She showed Mrs. Dishmeister that her granddaughter had secretly made a video tape which clearly showed two of the kids hitting each other with the sock puppets.
Before the tape ended Mrs. Dishmeister was shown on the video taking a sock puppet and hitting it with a ham and cheese sandwich while telling the startled little children that this is what happens to kids when they do not eat what the day care teacher tells them to eat.
The tape concludes with Mrs. Dishmeister taking the sock puppet and actually biting its lips. One of the little girls can be heard saying, "Yuck Mrs. D is making out with the sock puppet, lesbo alert, lesbo alert!"
Mrs. Waffleseed called the PETA people who came out immediately and took Mrs. Dishmeister into custody.
A spokesperson for The Jack Be Nimble, Jack Be Quick Day Care Center has stated that Mrs. Dishmeister has been relieved of her duties and they are in the process of interviewing a replacement
